A night watchman convicted of sexual assault in Dordogne
The Bergerac court sentenced a 67-year-old man to thirty months in prison, including twelve months under electronic monitoring, for sexual assault on a disabled resident of a home in Sainte-Foy-de-Belvès.

The events took place on July 28, early in the morning, in the night watchman's room. The man, who was substituting in a home for adults with intellectual disabilities in Sainte-Foy-de-Belvès (Dordogne), was accused by a resident of having demanded that she undress before touching her chest and genital area.
The Judgment
On Monday, September 15, the criminal court of Bergerac judged the case. The accused, aged 67, was found guilty of sexual assault and sentenced to 30 months imprisonment, including 12 months firm with electronic monitoring.
This case highlights the particular vulnerability of people with disabilities, especially in institutions, and the need for strengthened supervision to prevent abuse. It also reminds us of the importance of training and supervising staff working with vulnerable populations to ensure their safety and dignity.
